IR (Important Release) versions of GiD are similar to a developer version, with all its new capabilities, but more stable because during next six months will only have fixed bugs, but not next features. Download and install one of these versions if do you want modern capabilities and also want more stability that using developer versions. (if want more stable versions must use LTS (Long Term Support) main versions, that have news only every 2 years and fixed bugs in this period.
This version of GiD works on macOS 12.7 Monterey and newer.
This version of GiD has been build on a mac Mini with Apple’s M4 and macOS Sequoia 15.5.

Note: The first time you open GiD, macOS will display a message about opening an application from an unidentified developer. Just dismiss this window and Control+Click ( or Right-Click) the application and select ‘open’. Now the window will show an ‘Open’ button to launch GiD.
Note Sequoia (macos 15): on ‘Apple can’t check app for malicious software‘ message, go to Apple menu –> System Settings, then click Privacy & Security in the sidebar; go to Security, scroll down until you find GiD 17.x.x and click Open Anyway. (from here).
