IR (Important Release) versions of GiD are similar to a developer version, with all its new capabilities, but more stable because during next six months will only have fixed bugs, but not next features. Download and install one of these versions if do you want modern capabilities and also want more stability that using developer versions. (if want more stable versions must use LTS (Long Term Support) main versions, that have news only every 2 years and fixed bugs in this period
